A female suicide bomber has reportedly detonated her
Improvised Explosive Device (IED) along Maiduguri-Mafa road in Borno
state, killing seven people in the process.
According to vanguard, the incident was perpetrated by the bomber whom sources say should be in her 20s, on Sunday afternoon.

A police officer who said that he is not authorized to talk to the press said: “The
explosion took place at about 12 noon on Sunday near Welcome to
Maiduguri Muna Garrage situated along Gamboru Ngala- Dikwa Mafa-
Maiduguri troubled road.”
The scene of the blast is not far from the Maiduguri metropolis which
has witnessed series of deadly attacks by terrorists during the peak of
the Boko Haram insurgency.
It was also gathered that the mangled bodies of the female suicide
bomber were left at the scene while the 7 other victims including the
injured were conveyed into undisclosed hospitals in Maiduguri.
The Media Coordinator of Operation Lafiya Dole, when contacted said he has “just
been transferred from the zone and now in Abuja to work with the
Minister of Defence, which according to him, he is not in the position
to comment on such issue.”
Reports
had surfaced earlier that seven people were confirmed dead when some
fleeing Boko Haram terrorists attacked a village in the northern state
of Yobe.
